Baker  neighborhood of Seattle, as well as 12 commercial spaces. The goal of the Artspace Mt, Baker Station Lofts is to create a permanently affordable artist community, which will serve as a catalyst for more cultural development in the Mt. Baker area. This four-story building will help to transform the area into an urban village, with the empasis on walking or public transit, rather than cars. There is no parking garage at Artspace Mt. Baker, but it will provide bicycle parking and a spots for car-sharing. The roof will be flat with parapets and a green roof landscaping area with bridges, tables, benches, paved patio and planters. The exterior will be finished with brick veneer columns and storefronts with canopies set along Rainer Avenue and Forest Street. All first floor commercial and residential spaces will have polished concrete flooring. There will be elevator access to all floors and the rooftop, and all upper-level units will be handicap accessible and include thermostatically controlled electronic heat and solar water heating systems.
